There once was a time when I selfishly created "mommy break time" by turning on some random animation on nick or disney junior to entertain my child. I know, I know- the TV shouldn't be used as a babysitter, but get real- we've all done it and will continue to do it!
My bad parenting has spawned an obsessive toddler who thinks that Paw Patrol should be played at all times. When my son finds a new obsession, I think it's adorable- singing the theme song, quoting the catch phrases, and naming all the characters. Today I've reached my breaking point with the show, Paw Patrol.
My toddler is so obsessed with the community saving pups that he wakes in the middle of the night and all I hear on the monitor is "paw trol". He wakes saying it, he chants it all evening long and to make matters worse today at daycare he was learning to count with his fingers. I showed up to pick him up and his teacher tells me how cute he was counting out on his fingers....not numbers, but every single pup of the hit show.
Last night he shoved Chase, Zuma, and my personal favorite, Rubbel into my baked potato because there is no break in his obsession even during dinner.
So don't worry Pediatricians everywhere, jokes on me for my lack in judgement in letting the TV entertain my son.
Gotta go- I'm sure a pup needs saving from the garbage disposal.
